What is an "unexplained" photograph?

Many "unexplained" photos turn out to be "explainable." From reflections, to the developing process, what appears to be a "ghost," could be coming from a camera malfunction to an atmosphereic condition.

Technically, a spirit photograph is any ghost, phantom, or spirit, as well as activity, not of this world, captured on film. Keep in mind, there has never been a “true authenticated” spirit photograph. Most are obvious fakes or simply oddities created when the photo was taken, or flaws in its development. Those photos that cannot be explained by either of these causes are simply, unexplained.
